I have loved Golden Retrievers for as long as I can remember. As an adult, I got my first golden in 1995 when my children were 4 and 6 years old. Bailey was a great family dog and was especially good with children. I had him certified as a therapy dog and also did quite a bit of public education with him in my kids’ schools. In the mid-90s, I gave a class to elementary school kids that introduced the concept of matching lifestyle with the right dog breed. Bailey was my “demo dog” for these classes. He was known for his ease and gentleness with kids.
